Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for defining project scope and objectives, coordinating activities of a project team, identifying resources, and ensuring the proper execution of a project or multiple projects. The PM develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The PM will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation ensuring that the work is performed to client's requirements and in accordance with F.D. Thomas' safety standards. The PM manages projects from start to finish, including managing changes to scope, schedule and budget and work with internal personnel to appropriately staff project. The PM is also responsible for preparing documentation such as scope of work, contracts, purchase orders, reports and budgets, project tracking and analysis to take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Ensures adherences to quality standards and reviews project deliverables

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a project team within a region including labor, vendors and contractors.
  • Manage tasks to ensure on time completion.
  • Manage capacity, production, and cycle time expectations.
  • Lead internal meetings with other managers and team members to review the status of the program and implement changes as necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee pre-job planning; ensure a consistent Plan of the Day (POD)
  • Review estimates, contracts, plans, and specifications
  • Manage project schedule including all manpower needs
  • Develop job set up, budgets, and submittals
  • Purchase order job related materials, equipment, or services
  • Manage materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Attend client/customer meetings; provide them comprehensive project updates and problem/conflict resolutions.
  • Review risk assessment, safety requirements, and installation procedures
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct multiple projects
  • Accurately ensure all work is accounted for and accurately maintained in tracking
  • Identify innovative ways to reduce work cycle times and increase quality.
  • Retrieve, analyze, and report data for business intelligence.
  • Respond to or create Request for Information (RFIs)
  • Generate monthly billing, WIP and work off schedule in a timely manner
  • Review weekly job progress for percentage to complete
  • Review and maintain schedule of values and cost at completion, etc.
  • Review invoices for proper pricing and cost codes
  • Oversee delivery of materials, tools, and equipment
  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control measures
  • Change management: execute Change Orders (Cos), contract modifications, PCO's, etc.
  • Update electronic files and ensure proper information is entered into Viewpoint
  • Review and approve weekly timecards for proper cost codes
  • Execution of all project close out requirements
  • Establish and communicate job specific safety protocols and material submittals
  • Communicate needs with Corporate Safety Manager
  • Ensure Pre-Job/Safety Kick-Off is completed on each assigned project
  • Solicit regular safety related feedback from job sites

Key Requirements, Education, Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) with a major in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or other related.
  • 5+yrs field experience managing same or similar industry projects; end-to-end; large project experience preferred
  • 2 plus years managing large projects
  • Project Management Professional PMP, Six Sigma, and related certifications preferred
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience and familiarity with contracts and union labor pertaining to projects
  • Demonstrated effective business acumen and communications
  • Effective time management, organization skills, and use of TM tools
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability with ability to interpret data, identify faulty trends and solve.
  • Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision
  • Advanced experience with MS-Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Teams, etc.,)

Travel:

  • Periodic travel may be required
