Position Overview:

FDT is seeking an experienced PM/Estimator. This position will be responsible to develop our market, develop cost estimates and manages all aspects of the project from concept to completion for projects and services related to Concrete & Masonry Restoration, Protective Coatings and Engineering Designs. Develop, produce, and maintain production units according to industry standard as directed.

The PM/Estimator will establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels and with external parties and be viewed as a team player. The successful candidate will be a professional, high-performing individual who takes pride in performing top-quality work with a team-oriented, service mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Division Manager with all project proposals as requested
  • Analyze and evaluate project plans, specifications, scope, difficulty, and any other requirements necessary to prepare a job cost estimate and assemble bid packages
  • Prepare conceptual estimates and/or budgets
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and unit pricing using established company production rates
  • When quantity survey is complete; establish profit & overhead for project if requested
  • Use the Request for Information (RFI) process when information is lacking (document appropriately)
  • Inform Division Manager and/or Sr. Estimator of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in plans and specifications
  • Maintain in the job file, all correspondence records and notes for the project being bid (log all bid documents)
  • Review and analyze all quotes to assure they meet the standards and specifications for the project
  • Communicate with General Contractor's, owners, vendors, and trades
  • Secure vendor pricing and select vendors and subcontractors by their cost effectiveness for each project
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to completely cover scope in the most cost-effective way
  • Immediately respond to any vendor or subcontractor questions; resolve issues immediately and completely
  • Get written documentation on vendor and subcontractor quotes
  • Be proficient in project principals, policies, and procedures and apply them during course of work
  • Assist Project Manager with purchasing and any change orders on projects estimated as requested
  • Ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Checks are always in place
  • Job close out and reviews
  • Performs job walks, visual assessments, and measurements
  • Oversee pre-job planning; ensure a consistent Plan of the Day (POD)
  • Review estimates, contracts, plans, and specifications
  • Manage project schedule including all manpower needs
  • Develop job set up, budgets, and submittals
  • Purchase order job related materials, equipment, or services
  • Review risk assessment, safety requirements, and installation procedures
  • Manage materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct multiple projects
  • Coordinate and manage all phases of construction process from conceptual to close-out
  • Daily production reports and tracking production goals
  • Respond to or create Request for Information (RFIs)
  • Generate monthly billing, WIP and work off schedule in a timely manner
  • Review weekly job progress for percentage to complete
  • Review and maintain schedule of values and cost at completion, etc.
  • Review invoices for proper pricing and cost codes
  • Oversee delivery of materials, tools, and equipment
  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control measures
  • Change management: execute Change Orders (Cos), contract modifications, PCO's, etc.
  • Update electronic files and ensure proper information is entered into Viewpoint
  • Review and approve weekly timecards for proper cost codes
  • Execution of each project close out requirements

Key Requirements, Education, Experience:

  • Must adhere to proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to follow written/verbal instructions regarding chemicals, cleaning agents, supplies, and equipment
  • Must demonstrate comprehension and compliance with safety procedures

Travel:

  • Travel mostly local market, and up to 30% may be required
